Can I Sue Police For Forcing Me To Receive Medical Attention

by Wanda

I was at a college party and ended up getting way too drunk. I'm 22 but don't usually drink so I didn't realize until it was too late that I had more than I can handle.

I was stumbling down the sidewalk with my friends laughing at me, making our way to my friend's house a couple of blocks away. All of a sudden a cop rolls up and starts getting into our faces, being way too aggressive.

Mind you, we are all small females who are not hurting anyone or bothering anyone. I was the only one who was drunk so there wasn't a real reason for the cop to stop, let alone get into our faces yelling at us.

He ended up making me do a breathalyzer and testing me. I told him I was drunk and not driving and on the way home. He was very verbally abusive to the point that I was crying hard. He ended up saying that I was emotionally unstable and then called for an ambulance to come and take me to the hospital!

My friends at that point were extremely upset but that just made the cop even more aggressive and louder yelling at us. Even the ambulance guys were looking out of the corner of their eyes at this crazy cop.

After going to the ER and waiting forever, a doctor spent about two minutes with me and then said I was wasting their time. I told her I was forced by some crazy cop to come here. She didn't care and they ended up releasing me to my friends. Then one day I got a bill for over $800 from the hospital! For what?

I'm still shocked this all happened and was wondering if anyone can give me advice on what I should do at this point. I have no idea about lawsuits. Does anyone know what to do?
