Child Custody - School issues

by June Jones
(Tulsa, Oklahoma)

My daughter has three children with her ex-husband. She lives with her present husband and has an established living environment for over a year now. Her ex-husband was just kicked out of his girlfriends house and is living with his father. She would like to move the children to the school where she lives. What are the reprocussions of this move?

Answer: Please Note this is not official legal advice.

There are many factors involved in every child custody situation. I do not know the particular details of your daughter's and ex-husband's legal agreement on child custody. The best course of action is to have a discussion with the ex-husband to try and persuade him to take into consideration the children's well being.

If he is unwilling to compromise then legal action will most likely need to take place. Again I can't tell you exactly what your options are since I do not have the specific details of their past child custody agreement.

I would encourage you to go here to read different child custody situations from real people to see if one matches the circumstances your daughter faces.
