Tenant / Landlord Questions

If my landlord accepts the keys to the property and a forwarding address from me (the tenant at the time), I vacate the property that day, and the landlord signs a new lease with new tenants on that same day which is 1 month before MY lease is to expire.
1)Does that void my lease out with him on that day and at that time?
2)Does the state law saying he has only 21 days until he has to give me a detailed bill and a check for the balance start on that day or from the last day of the current month? which would have been my last day according to the lease I signed.
3)Does that entitle me to receive reimbersment for the last month of the lease I signed if I paid for it ahead of time with a first and last months rent + sec.deposit at the begining of my original lease with him?
I do not owe him any monies for late rent or anything like that.
